Linda Maestas

LINDA MAESTAS, 84, a resident of Ohkay Owingeh, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo Maestas; granddaughter, Nadine Cata; parents, Matthew and Felipa Cata; siblings, Elsie Trujillo, Ann Reyna and Louise Maestas, Frank Cata, Matthew Cata Jr., Michael E. Cata, Patrick Cata and William Carter; God Children, Marvin Trujillo, and Yolanda White. Linda was a loving mother, aunt, sister and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, her specialty was her native pies and cookies. Linda is survived by her children, Edgar (ReyAnn), Rosemary (Sonny), Alfred (Stacy), and Anthony (Evelyn); siblings, Frances, Doris (Tony); sister-in-laws, Irene and Sally and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh followed with a burial at 10:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Anthony Vigil, Isaiah Salazar, Alfred Jeremy Maestas , Brian Cata, Patrick Cata Jr., Curt Garcia, Butterfly Garcia, and Darron Garcia.
