Leroy Quintana

Leroy “George” Quintana, 57, a resident of Chimayo, passed away Saturday Nov. 28, 2015 following a short battle with cancer.  He went peacefully surrounded by his loving family. George was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Antonio and Emilia Romero who raised him, Grandfather, Vicente Quintana; Stepfather, Andy Lopez, Uncle Frank Quintana also known to many as “Father”, Father and Mother in-law, Rev Patricio and Elisaida Baca. George was a beloved Husband, Father, “Papo”, Son, brother, Uncle, brother in-law, friend and the “life of the party”.  George loved the Lord with all his heart. He served in street ministry, and ushered during church services and wanted nothing more than to bring others to Christ. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and camping. He loved to paint, play guitar, cook his famous Tamales and of course enjoy his favorite sweets.  He will be missed most for his kind heart and humorous personality. Surviving him is his wife, Elizabeth Quintana; mother, Geniva Q. Lopez; siblings, Grace Quintana-Trujillo and spouse Leroy, Rose Kavanaugh and spouse Ernest, Richard Lopez and spouse Flora, Raymond Lopez and spouse Frances; Children, Felipe Quintana, Francisco Quintana and spouse Cassandra, Amos Quintana and spouse Alyssa, Yolanda Quintana, Kayla Martinez and spouse Daren. There are also twelve grandchildren and many nephews and nieces as well as great nephews and nieces. Public visitation will begin on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. at the Light House Church in Chimayo, with a Devotional Service to follow at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Light House Church, with a burial to follow at the Assembly of God Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving the family as Pallbearers, are Darold Valencia, Joseph Segovia, Elijah Martinez, Jason Martinez, Ryan Anaya and Eli Martinez, honorary Pallbearers are Joshua Lucero, Daren Martinez, Andres Lopez, Michael Martinez, and Daniel Sweeny.
