JUAN OLIVAS, 87, a resident of El Llano, passed away of natural causes on Thursday, September 17, 2015. Juan was preceded in death by his parents, Toribio and Ramona Olivas; in-laws, Federico and Bernadita Archuleta; sisters, Carmen Silva and Bernarda Jones; granddaughter, Jessica Gallegos. He is survived by his spouse, Dora of El Llano, sons, Jake Olivas and wife Becky of La Mesilla, Ray Olivas and wife Joann of Velarde, Henry Olivas and wife Joann of Santa Fe and Gilbert Olivas and wife Vivian of Chamita, daughters, Josephine Olivas of Fairview, Rose Gallegos and husband James of Alcalde and Delores Trujillo and husband Ronnie of Fairview; sisters, Priscilla Dominguez of El Llano and Lugarda Maestas of Whittier CA; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada with a burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
