JOSHUA DAVID LUCERO, 23, a resident of La Mesilla, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his auntie Cathy Cordova; cousins, KiKi Lopez, Charles Gibbs, David Garcia, Kimberly Garcia; and grandfather, Severo Cordova. Joshua David Lucero had a great personality, he always had a smile. His smile was contagious and would brighten everyone's day. He was always happy, and wanted to make others happy too. Joshua was a generous person and gave anything he had willingly to anyone in need. He was a very caring and non judgmental person. Since the age of three years old, Joshua loved riding dirt bikes and atvs. He also liked basketball and football. He loved being outside and playing with his cousins as a kid. Joshua loved doing outdoor activities, hiking and hunting with his father and brother. He loved his family and friends. Joshua David Lucero left us so soon, he will be missed dearly and will live in our hearts forever. Joshua is survived by his parents,  Robert and Elizabeth Lucero; children, Jayden and Josiah Lucero; siblings, Jake and Natasha Lucero; niece, Cecilia Fernandez Lucero grandmother, Aurelia Cordova, grandparents, Jake and Josephina Lucero;  great-uncle, Horace Cordova, and uncles and aunts,  Gloria Cordova, Natalie Barrera (Francisco), Leroy Cordova (Ann), Corrine Cordova, Maryann and Terry Gibbs, Tony Lucero, Russel and Brenda Hardy, and many other cousins, loved ones and friends. A Visitation will begin on Wednesday August 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. A reception will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish hall in Espanola. A Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday August 22, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A second meal will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 for those who are available at 2:00 p.m. at Gabriel’s Restaurant in Pojoaque for those who would like to go eat with us.  Serving the family as pallbearers are Jake Lucero, Natasha Lucero, Daniel Cordova, Robert Garcia, Michael Garcia, Elijah Taylor, Nathan Barrera, Isaiah Garcia, Jeremy Garcia, Manuel Escobar Jr., James Cordova and Denise Cordova.
