Jose Casey

Jose Levi Casey, 68, a lifelong resident of Chama, NM, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chon Martinez and Ivan Casey, and Grandparents, Raquel and Vicente Martinez. Jose Levi Casey is survived by his cousins, Vicenta Neher, Michael Lopez (Lily), Benito Lopez, Vicente Lopez, Margaret Elwell (Tom), Thomas Elwell (Ashley), Dominic Lopez, Rachel Figg (Brandon), Michael Albert Lopez, Dallas Lopez, Stephen Elwell, Wyatt Lopez, Nevaeh Lopez and many relatives and friends.  Jose Levi Casey was well known in the Chama Valley Community.  He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and proudly volunteered as an usher for his church.  He especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was also a custodian for the Chama Valley Schools for a number of years. A rosary will be recited on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Patrick Church in Chama, followed by a Memorial mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at the Chama Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Michael Lopez, Benito Lopez, Michael Albert Lopez, and Vicente Lopez. Honorary pallbearers are the rest of the family members.
