Johnny Gallegos

Johnny Gallegos , 69, a resident of Milan, NM passed away peacefully at his home following a lengthy illness surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 27, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leandro Gallegos and Ascencion Gallegos; sister, Rebecca Gallegos, brothers, Patricio and Julian Gallegos. Johnny was originally from Vallecitos, NM, he graduated from Ojo Caliente High School in 1969. He received his automotive certificate from Northern College. He worked for General Motors in California, then moved back to Milan, NM where he worked in the Ker McGee Uranium Mines until his was injured in 1982. Johnny Gallegos married the love his life Shada Gallegos in 1972 and remained married for almost 47 years until the time of his death. As a family, Johnny Gallegos was proudest of his 3 sons, John Gallegos-CEO CSTI Inc., Joey Gallegos-Sergeant New Mexico State Police and James Gallegos-Director of Field Operations CSTI Inc. Johnny Gallegos will be dearly missed. Johnny Gallegos is survived by his wife, Shada Gallegos of Milan, NM; sons, John Gallegos and wife Tanya of Albuquerque, Joey Gallegos and wife Sonya of Hernandez, NM, James Gallegos and wife Jenny of Milan, NM; siblings, Theresa Medina and husband Steve of Sanford, CO, Dolores Lopez and husband Robert of Albuquerque, Patricia Gallegos of Ojo Caliente; sister-in-law, Julie Gallegos of Ojo Caliente, NM, Elaine Archuleta and husband Rudy of El Rito, NM, Margaret Alire and husband Donald of Vallecitos, NM, Richard Gallegos and wife Daniella of El Rito, NM, Robert Gallegos and husband Gabriel Ortega of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Kayla Gallegos, Erin Gallegos, Gianluca Gallegos, Tyanie Delara, Taigon Delara, Joey Gallegos Jr. , Nathaniel Gallegos, Dylan Salazar, Kenneth Gallegos, Gabriel Gallegos, Anthony Rivera, Michael Salazar, Monique Gallegos, Jacob Gallegos, and great-grandson, Dylan Gallegos, and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Shada Gallegos for taking care of Johnny Gallegos all the years, James and Jenny Gallegos for all of your help, Joey Gallegos Jr. for helping watch over his grandpa Johnny for the past almost 8 years, and Jacob Gallegos for being there every day. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., at Nuestra Senora de Dolores Catholic Church in Vallecitos with a burial to follow at the Vallecitos Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Joey Gallegos Jr. Nathaniel Gallegos, Dylan Salazar, Monique Gallegos, Gary Gallegos, Christopher Archuleta, Jesus Hernandez and Fernando Hernandez.
