Jerry Martinez

JERRY JEREMY MARTINEZ, 49, a resident of Arroyo Seco, formerly of Chimayo and Grants, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his children, Adrian (AJ) and Amanda (Mandy); maternal grandparents, Manuelita and Juan Vigil, and paternal grandparents, Elias and Cleofas Martinez; Godfather, Mauricio Martinez Jr. Jerry lived life to the fullest, loved his Broncos, enjoyed riding his Harley, going camping and hunting. Jerry touched so many lives with his kindness and sense of humor and created lifelong friendships. Jerry will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jolene Martinez and their fur babies Bella and Honey; parents, Ilean and  Edumenio Martinez; brother, Paul Martinez; Godmother, Eliza Martinez, confirmation Godfather, Johnny Baca; mother and father-in-law, Celina and LeRoy Lopez; sisters-in-law, Edwina Roybal (Chris) and Cerina Armijo (Fabian); brother -in-law, Scott Lopez; nieces and nephews, Ava and Gianna Chavez-Martinez, Dominic and Taylor Roybal, Alexa and Teá Lopez, Amber Alvarez and Alicia Serna; Godchildren, Taylyne (Nichole) and Brayden (Daniel) Aragon. Public visitation will begin on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at El Potrero Cemetery. Please join the family to break bread following the burial at Cities of Gold Ball Room 10 Cities of Gold, Santa Fe NM.  Serving the family as pallbearers are Jimmy Martinez, Ron Vigil, Darrell Vigil, Martin Herrera, Ernie Aragon, Casey Gonzales, Mike Armijo, Jody Beach, Jerome Madrid, honorary pallbearers named are Eli Gallegos, Stevie Martinez, Joseph Baca, Roy Gonzales, Pete Garcia, Jose (Chopper) Martinez, Sam (Chong) Marquez, Leonard Corona and many more of his riding brothers and extended family.
