Jennifer Long

JENNIFER RACHAEL LONG, 32, a resident of Arroyo Seco/Espanola, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019.  Jennifer was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother, E. Jane Shipman, paternal grandfather, Bob Long and paternal uncle, Dale Long. Jennifer graduated from Pojoaque High School in 2005. After a few years of college at UNM, she decided to follow her mother’s profession and entered nursing school. She graduated in December of 2012. While she was in school, she worked at a local nursing home where she cared deeply for her patients. After graduating, Jennifer spent a year as a medical surgical nurse before transferring to Labor and Delivery. Jennifer loved caring for mothers and their babies, and her incredible spirit and motherly disposition left a lasting impression on the many families she helped and cared for.  Jennifer is survived by her parents, Jim and Stephanie Long of Espanola; sister, Katie Long and Matt Wargo; niece Ivy Rose Wargo all of Coon Rapids, MN, brother, Jacob Long and Jasmine Encinias of Santa Fe, brother by choice, David Ehlenberger of Espanola; aunts and uncles, Jeffrey and Lori Monteith of Thatcher, AZ, Bobby and Gail Long of Stanley, NM; cousins, Cole, Taylor, and Haley Monteith of Thatcher, AZ, Matt Long and spouse of Scottsdale AZ, Sara Long Gallegos and spouse of Boston MA, Bobby Dale Long and spouse of Tulsa, OK, and Christa Carico and spouse of Frisco CO.; maternal grandparents, James and LaVerne Monteith of Roswell, NM and paternal grandmother, Florence Long of Bellingham, WA; and all of the fathers, mothers and babies she helped deliver and care for. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory in the Española Valley.
