ISMAEL E. TRUJILLO, 85, a resident of Cordova, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016. He joins his wife of 63 years, Erlinda L. Trujillo in heaven only five months after her passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Natividad Trujillo; stepmother, Rosita Trujillo; in-laws, Feloquio and Eloisa Lopez; son-in-law, Mike R. Martinez; brother, Max Trujillo; sister-in-law, Carolina Trujillo; nephew, Willie Trujillo; niece, Bryanna Bustos. He was a Korean War Veteran with C Battery 518th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion, and received a Combat Infantry Badge, Korean service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, one overseas bar and United Nations Service Medal. He was the owner of successful race horses and worked in Los Alamos as a Laborer for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, horse racing and spending time with his family and friends. Ismael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ismael is survived by his daughters, Lubella Martinez and Carmelita Sanchez of Cordova; grandchildren, Tessie Sanchez, Christopher Martinez (Jessica Maes), Jacquelyn Mondragon (Pete), Michael Martinez (Shannon), great-grandchildren, Antonise Martinez, Marcos Romero, Jonah and Ethan Mondragon, Cruz Martinez, Nicolas Sandoval, Destinee and Chanel Martinez; sister, Dora Bustos (Elias) of Chimayo and a close friend, Zebedeo Sandoval. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at the San Antonio de Padua Cemetery in Cordova. Serving the family as pallbearers, Christopher, Michael and Cruz Martinez, Pete, Jonah and Ethan Mondragon, Marcos Romero, Nicolas Sandoval, and Rodney Bustos, honorary pallbearers, Antonise, Destinee, and Chanel Martinez, and Zebedeo Sandoval.
