Henry J. Valencia Jr., age 43, a resident of Espanola, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 following a lengthy illness. Henry was preceded in death by his mother, Catharina “Kitty” Valencia; brother, Michael Valencia, paternal grandparents, Martin and Manuelita Valencia; maternal grandparents, Jon and Riki Houtman. Henry J. Valencia Jr. worked at his father's business, Henry Valencia Inc. for sales and other various departments. He was always proud to be there for his co-workers and especially his customers. Jr. had a passion for autos and motorcycles. He also worked for various other entities to explore his desires in life. Henry Jr. had a passion for cycling and being with his family and friends. Henry Jr. had a huge heart with a lot of love to offer. He had a mesmerizing smile and smirky giggle that will always be embedded into our minds. Henry Jr. will be terribly missed and loved forever. He is survived by his son, Jayden Casdaos-Valencia of Abiquiu; father, Henry Valencia Sr. of Española, sisters, Margaret Valencia-Whiting and spouse, Richard Whiting of Española, Wieke Vanderkuijl and spouse Bob Vanderkuijl of Holland; nephew and godson Michael Naranjo and wife Deandrea and their children Julian, KJ, and Leila; nieces, Victoria Nadine, Ashley, Aaron, Zandra, Maureen; nephew, Mike; aunt and godparents, Linda Baca and spouse Paul of Santa Fe, aunts, Susie Maestas and spouse Alfirio of Farmington and Mabel Valencia; uncles, Robert Valencia and spouse Beatrice of Española, Edward Valencia and spouse Inez, Frankie Valencia and spouse Marie of Española, Patrick Valencia; cousins, Melissa, Jerry, Eric, Michelle, Racheal, Sharon, Steven, Sharon, Dolores, Conrad, and Curtis. Public visitation will begin on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 7:00 pm, with a rosary to follow at 7:30 pm at Santa Cruz de la Cañada Catholic Church in Santa Cruz. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. also at Santa Cruz de la Cañada Catholic Church, with the burial to follow at the Santa Cruz de la Cañada Catholic Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Michael Naranjo, Jaiden Casados-Valencia, Steven Baca, Curtis Valencia, Bill Yelvington and Steve Montoya.
