Dennis Serrano

DENNIS SERRANO, 49, a resident of Chimayo, passed away accidental on Saturday, March 11, 2017. Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Evangline Serrano Archuleta; grandparents, Seferino and Marcelina Serrano; brother, Alvin Trujillo, sister, Stephanie Trujillo; nephews, Daniel Trujillo and Glen Trujillo; step-sister, Celeste Maestas; uncle, Seferino Serrano Jr. Dennis worked for the county of Espanola as a mechanic for several years until he got hurt and became disabled. He is survived by his son, Dennis Serrano Jr. “DJ” of Espanola; father, Dennis Maestas of Arroyo Seco; sisters, Joyce Marquez of Fairview, Emily Trujillo of Chili, brother, Andrew Trujillo and partner Amy of Espanola; step-sister, Karen Maestas of Arroyo Seco; aunts, Ella Lujan, Thelma Serrano, Jane Ortiz and husband Armando, Susie Aveldano and Husband Manuel, Linda Carnley, Annie Jaramillo and partner Joel all of Chili, and Yvonne Serrano of Chimayo, and many nieces and nephews and many other relatives. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory.  Memorial Mass will be held Saturday March, 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola, with a burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.  Serving the family as honorary pallbearers, Christopher Serrano, Anthony Trujillo, Max Barela, Johnthan Barela, Michael Barela, Ericka Marquez, Cathy Aragon, Carlos Martinez and Stephen Gregory.
