David M. Marquez, 28, of Ohkay Owingeh was called home on Saturday, November 7th, 2015. Rosary and wake to take place at his place of residence at 7pm on Monday, November 9, 2015 and Mass Services at St. John’s Catholic Church at 9am, November 10, 2015 and Burial to follow at Ohkay Owingeh Cemetery.
“Dave” was a ‘2005’ graduate from Espanola Valley High School, where he was a football player #68 and wrestler. He was currently attending Northern New Mexico College and worked in the Admissions office. He was well known for the love he had for his dogs, Xena and Ghost. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His big heart, laughter and generosity will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Percy and Marie Tapia, Uncles Arnold and Percy David Tapia, Aunts, Priscilla & Bernice Tapia, and Cousin Michael Harvier, III. He is survived by his Mother, Rose Marquez and Fiancé, Jeff Quintana, Paternal Grandfather, Herbert Yates of Nambé Pueblo, Stepfather, Max Marquez, Jr. of Rio Rancho, Sister, Maurianna Gachupin and her children Esha, Michael, and Brenton of Jemez Pueblo, Brothers, Christopher “CJ” Marquez and Fiancé Kaylina Abeyta of Ohkay Owingeh, Joshua Marquez of Chandler, Arizona, Godson, Dakota Bullcoming of Ohkay Owingeh, Aunts, Grace Ortiz, Belle Tapia, Becky Tapia, and Berta Tapia of Ohkay Owingeh, Cousins, Andrew and Anthony Tapia (who were like brothers) of Ohkay Owingeh, Shawna Martinez (who was like a sister) and her children Cheyenne, Ronnie and Percy Bullcoming of Ohkay Owingeh, and many other relatives.
