DARLA SERRANO, 30, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, June 16, 2017. Darla was preceded in death by her parents, Marty and Darlene Guillen; paternal grandfather, Martin Guillen, and maternal grandfather, Bernardo Valdez. Her strength was admired and present during this difficult journey not only within herself but for those she loved. Darla’s short time on earth is a constant reminder to appreciate life’s greatest treasures. She enjoyed many things, music was a passion she shared with her husband, her voice brought comfort, and happiness to those around her. The bond she shared with her sisters, the life and love she shared with her husband, the memories she made with her family, her cleverness and joking ways are a reflection of what mattered most to Darla. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 10 years, Maurice Serrano Jr.; sisters, Monica Lopez and husband Santiago and Anna Guillen; father and mother-in-law, Maurice and Nadine Serrano; sister-in-law, Jasmine Serrano (Marcos); nephews, Emiliano and Navid Lopez and many relatives and friends.
