Arolinda Maria Martinez

MARIA AROLINDA MARTINEZ, 92, was called home to our Lord on Saturday, May 19, 2018.  She was born in the spring of 1926 in Chimayo to the late Victor Vigil and Felicita DeAguero.  She was the second youngest sibling and the only surviving member.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Fernando D. Martinez; sons, Manuel, Donald, and Kenny Martinez; grandchildren, Eric and Deanna Martinez, Jesus Ferran, and Manuel Sandoval; great-grandson, Noah Herrera; sons-in-law, Candido Romero and Andrew Quintana; brothers, Epitacio, Amador, and Jose Vigil; sisters, Maclovia Young, Reynalda Arguello, Eduarda and Sabina Martinez. Grandma “Aro”, as known to many, was adorable and formed a unique and special relationship with everyone, especially with each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a devoted mother/grandmother, and will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, sense of humor, and never-ending love for her family. She is survived by her children, Alfonso Martinez (Vicky), Olivia McDuff, Andrew O. Martinez (Yolanda), Fernando Martinez (Bertha), Esther Martinez, Wanda Ferran (Lloyd), Rito Martinez (Kris), Avelina Martinez (Jimmy Herrera), Ida Moreno, Michael Martinez (Bonnie), Felicia Martinez, Beverly Trujillo (Gilbert),  and Andrew F. Martinez; a very special and dear nephew, whom she considered a son, Alfred Vigil and special niece, Geraldine DeAguero; 35 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren, and many other loving family, relatives, and friends.
