Antonio Tony Ruiz

ANTONIO “TONY” RUIZ, 82, a resident of Chimayo, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 25, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Rita Ruiz; brother, Antonil Pacheco; grandson, Anthony G. Ruiz. Antonio retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory and was an avid Cowboy Fan. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Susie Ruiz; children, Michael Sherwood (Lavern), Anthony Ruiz, Bertha Sapcutt (Ronald), and Janet Archuleta (Steven); grandchildren, Arthur Martinez, Sherrie Lujan, Joshua Vialpando, Miguel Lujan (Sandra), Brianna Vialpando, Marissa Maldonaldo (Miguel), Lavina Rose Sherwood, Lauann Sherwood, and Greg Naranjo, great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jamie Lynn, Kiley, Khloe, Jessica, Adrianna, and Cienna; siblings, Josie Coriz, Isabel Herrera (Eloy), and Mally Methvin; his special dog, Shadow and other numerous relatives and friends. A wake service will on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Rock Christian Fellowship, with a burial to follow at Nuestra Senora de Carmel Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving the family as pallbearers are Lenard Coriz, Marty Sherwood, Mel Moe, Emilo Montoya, Miguel Lujan, and Glen Lopez, honorary pallbearers will be Josh Vialpondo, Brianna Vialpando, Sherrie Lujan, Rosie Sherwood, Lou Sherwood, Arthur Martinez, Greg Naranjo.
