ANITA M. ALDAZ, 86, a resident of Española, originally of Cañon Plaza, went to rest with our dear Lord on Friday, June 7, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 27, 1932. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcos and Carlotta Gonzales; husband, Juan G. Aldaz; brothers, Frank Gonzales (Virginia), Jose Nickolas Gonzales (Jane), Vicente Gonzales (Genoveva), Jose Gonzales (Deleria), and Amado Gonzales (Lucinda). Anita enjoyed going camping, cooking, going to parties, spending time with family and going out with James and Dawn. She also loved eating fish and going to the balloon fiesta. She enjoyed her ranch until she had to leave it. She loved all her nieces and nephews dearly. Her sons were her world. Mrs. Aldaz is survived by her children, James Aldaz (Yoshabelle Dawn) of Española, Gabriel Aldaz, Sr. (Josephine) of Cañon Plaza, Marcelino Aldaz (Irene) of Colorado, Geneva Martinez (Mel) of Arizona, Victor Aldaz (Geri) of Grants, Annabel Trujillo (Robert) of Santa Fe, Andrew Aldaz (Julie) of Arizona, Joe Aldaz (Angela) of El Rito, Gene Aldaz (Jeannette) of Los Alamos, Roberta Torrez (Leo) of Alcalde, and sister, Cora Lee; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. also at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Burial to follow at the Cañon Plaza Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Juan Aldaz, Gabriel Aldaz, Jr., Victor Aldaz, Jr., Josh Aldaz, Johnny Martinez, Ryan Aldaz, Leonard Torrez and Travis Aldaz. Honorary pallbearers named are, Yoshabelle Dawn Aldaz and Gloria Sandoval. The family of Anita M. Aldaz has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
